The Energy Alliance Association is helping public and private organizations understand greenhouse gas (GHG) concerns and develop effective GHG action plans. These plans are an essential component of quantifiable, cost-effective action in an environment of scrutiny and skepticism.
A clear understanding of costs and benefits of the available measures is important, both for the execution of best management practices and to avoid the label of greenwashing. Simply put, detailed GHG action plans provide a roadmap to meet goals.
TEAA presents the information in a form that decision makers can readily understand. Our GHG action plans are supplemented by an internet-based service that supports the implementation of the plan as well as effectively communicates the organization’s progress toward the goal to its clients and to the general public.
An effective GHG action plan will:
TEAA provides these capabilities by applying a model developed to incorporate all measures across the various sectors: building efficiency; fleet; commute; water/sewer; streetlights and photovoltaics. It also provides an accurate GHG impact estimate and a comprehensive financial analysis. This modeling allows up to five independent plans to be analyzed, providing the capability to compare the cost versus benefits of competing paths to meet GHG emissions reduction goals.
Measure-specific data such as capital cost, year of implementation, financing, energy and cost savings will yield to following analyses for five action plans:
TEAA staff have participated in or authored more than a dozen climate action plans, including the detailed GHG work for each of the cities in Sonoma County.
